This week went rather well. All things considering I was going to cancel the appointment since he has a runny nose but it seems to be going away so I just went.
We had fun! Q went in and took of his hat, coat and boots and sat down on the mat. he was *really* fidgety today. He was jumping all over the place and just not sitting down.
The first thing they did was play with an alligator. You push his teeth down and they practiced saying "My turn" and "push" with working on the "P" of push. Eventually the alligator bites your finger. It's silly but Q had fun.
They moved onto the next little square on the board and it was a book. They read a book called (I think) "Too Many Bubbles". It was about all these animals who played at the park and then got all muddy. So they had to go and have a bath in the "TUB". Sets of animals (around 3 or so) would go and ask the lady to get clean and she would give them "SOAP" and then say "GO TO THE TUB". Each of these are things that she would get Q to say. Eventually all the animals got in the "TUB" and then they would have a bath. Since each of the animals got "SOAP" there were too many "BUBBLES". The lady took a "HOSE" and "WASHED" the animals with the "WATER".
During the book each time he said who the animal was he got that cut out of an animal and had to "GO TO THE TUB" and put the animal on a photo of a tub.
After it was over the ST took Q to the kitchen and they got water and bubbles in a little "TUB" (looked more like a boat). When they came back Q and the ST played at the table with the "TUB". They would get an animal out of the bag, after Q asked for her to "OPEN THE BAG" and then no peaking he would get one out and say what the animal was and tell it to "GO TO THE TUB" and then put it in the water. This went on until they had all the animals in the tub and then took the animals "OUT".
We got to play the game where you feed the animal in the box different food. We redid the "MONKEY" and fed it some "BANANA" pieces. We worked around the box to feed the "ELEPHANT" "PEANUTS" by telling it to "ELEPHANT EAT". Next was the "DOG" and the "BONES" again telling it to "EAT DOG!". Last was the "BUNNY" (which I was surprised that Q was told it was a rabbit not a bunny). Q had to tell the bunny to "EAT CARROT" to get the "T" sound.
Once that was done we had finished everything for the day, said thank you and headed out. She was really impressed with how Q was doing with "BANANA" and "MORE". I guess she talked to our primary ST and they said to keep moving forward with everything they can since Q is very impressionable and can get the things they are working on (F's at the end of a word, G's at the end of a word, T's at the end of a word). Q does really well and eventually does get it.
