Q's ST Week #4

I was rather surprised about this week. We didn't get alot of time to work on our homework and frankly... I think I lost it. But it was ok.

It was cold this week so Q and I had on our winter coats. When we got there Q had to go potty so we did this first then waited in the waiting room. The ST came out and got us shortly after.

When we got in the room Q saw all these turtles laying around. He really wanted to play with them but restrained himself. Q sat down and said hi to his ST and off they went.

Do you remember the alligator game from last week? This week Q was less than enthusiastic to play with it. They did none the less. She pushed the buttons for Q instead. They worked on "push" and "my turn/your turn" and "this one". He did ok.

After the alligator was our book time. This weeks book was "Come out and Play, Little Mouse". Q helped to read the book by saying "come out and play little mouse". We didn't always get the whole sentence but we got some of it most of the time.

Once the book was over Q went around the room and collected little turtles. He had to "open" them and get the picture "out". Once he had the picture he had to say what it was. A few examples are banana (which he is FINALLY GETTING!!!), medicine, macaroni, hamburger, ect. He did have to work on the word "more" a few times since sometimes it came out as more and other times it was "nore".

The ST then had Q come to the table. They had a picture with a tree on it and some fall coloured leaves. Q had to take the leaves "off" the photo. It was hard for him to do since the word "off" is having him put more of his lip in his mouth. Try it for a second, say off. You notice that the top teeth are just touching the bottom lips? Now say off and try putting your bottom lip in your mouth like you are biting it. That's how Q does it. The ST helped him a few times to say it with not quite so much lips. It worked ok but Q eventually told her "NO HELP!" So she stopped helping.

Q got to try a new game. It was something like "pop the pirate". Basically there is a pirate head in a barrel, you have to put swards into the barrel (on the outside) and eventually one will make him pop. Q had to work on saying "I want a sword". I think she was aiming for the "want" more than anything.

Our homework for this week is to do the tree exercise (I got photocopies of the sheet and the leaves), as well as put some "dogs" in their "home". We are trying to get the "m" sound.

We also have one other thing for homework... I need your help with it. I have to come up with a list of 10 to 20 applicable multisyllabic words. Her examples were "backyardigans". Any suggestions?
