World Animal Day at the Zoo!

On Saturday Kyler and I got some great Mommy-Son time. I had received an e'mail from the Toronto zoo about their "World Animal Day" events. When I saw this one I *knew* we had to go:

Photography Workshops:

Kids' Animal Photography Workshops**
Kids of all ages can learn to take pictures of animals with National Geographic photographer and Arctic Explorer Greg Marshall:

10:00 am to 10:30 am > Children ages 4 to 7*

I signed us up and off we went. We were a bit late getting there but we had a lot of fun!

We didn't learn as much about taking pictures as we did about how his job works but it was really cool. Seeing a bunch of kids in this room with cameras ranging from cell phones, to film ones, to point-and-shoots, to pros. It was incredible to watch them.

Kyler has been going through a shy phase so I sat with him on the ground and snagged some photos of my own. He also got a cool bag from the Zoo. There was some National Geographic things for kids, some flyer's, a stuffable bag (one that fits inside itself really small) all this was inside a reusable Toronto Zoo bag.

Here's the photos we got from it:

We met up with Arnold and Quinton after and got to visit a few more zoo animals.

  1. Why does Q have a bandage on his head?

  2. a while back he got a mosquito bite. He scratched it so bad it was bleeding. Now if the band aid isn't there he does it again. So for now he has it on his head. Until it's all gone. :)
