March Break Day #3 - Tuesday

This morning everyone started to get up a bit earlier. Q got up earliest around 7:30 or so then everyone followed between then and 8:15. We had breakfast of Captain Crunch (which was what the kids picked the other day in the grocery store and is "My Mommy's FAVOURITE" - Amber)

After breakfast we hit the road! The night before I got some things ready for our day trip so we headed out really quickly. We were in the car ready to go to the Zoo by 8:45. I forgot to get a photo of them on the steps so instead here they are in the car:

The once we got to the Zoo I pulled out my phone to do my "Incaseyougetlost" photo but I couldn't fit them all in. So instead I did a group shot in the van!

We headed in one of the booths that didn't have lineups, which happen to be alot of them at that time (around 9:15am) and off we went. Instead of going our normal route to the monkeys and butterflies we went the other way. We wanted to see if the kids zoo was open (Kyler wanted to see the Goats and Quinton wanted to see the pigs) but it was still closed so we walked a bit further and found the POLAR BEARS! Everything in that section was in fine form because of the nice cool weather. Enjoy the photos:

Right after these last photos Kyler gave me this worried look and told me he had to go potty BAD! SO we bolted out of the exhibits and found the washroom (as always this was after we went before we left, and after I asked before we even walked into the polar bear area). We left the washrooms and went to see if the Flamingos were out. Again something the kids wanted to see so we tried to check it out. They weren't out but we saw some cool stuff. Including some ducks that wouldn't leave the kids alone:

I was told that the kids were "Starving" around this time (about 10:10am) so we sat down to have a treat. We had carrots, broccoli and cauliflower with dip for our snacks, and our chocolate milk.

We then went 'backwards' through one of the underground exhibits. We checked out turtles, bugs, alligators, ect. It was fun. We found this cool thing I have never seen at the zoo before. It's an ecosystem in a container and a big dome in the middle so kids can stick their heads in and check it out. I got a cute photo:

Once we finished inside we went outside and checked out the monkeys that were around there. And we walked up the path in the woods:

We stopped at the top and had lunch since they were still "berry" hungry. The two older ones had hot dogs, Q had chicken nuggets and I had a burger. We all made them into meals but I should have thought it through. we had *so* much fries left over I asked a family if they wanted them (their youngest daughter wanted fries and the parents only had pizza) so I didn't feel so bad about giving them away compared to throwing them out.

After lunch (and 2 bathroom breaks during this time for Q and Amber) we went back to the washroom and I made everyone try again. Then we went to see Amber's favourite animal, the giraffe. They weren't where they normally are so we had to walk up to their house to see them. Once we got a few photos we headed out to see the lions, ostrages, zebras and the cheetahs!

Then it got busy! It was crazy busy. It's almost like that is the middle of the zoo and we happen to meet up with the masses! We kinda skipped a few things since you couldn't even get into them. But we saw what we wanted, minus the butterflies, but it was ok. Here's the rest of the photos:

We stopped at the Gift shop so the kids could spend some of their moneys from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. I split their money so they could get stuff from the Zoo and check out the ROM gift shop if they wanted. Here we are playing around and heading back to the van:

We got home around 1:30pm and had a break. Well..... I sent them to their rooms and they didn't come out for a few hours but there was NO sleeping or breaking involved... unless you count them from me, which is ok.

Around 4:30pm they call came out of their room and we got dressed and ready to go outside. Arnold watched the kids in the backyard while I went for a 2.2km bike ride! It was so nice of Arnold. They played with their bubbles and had a blast and then played with the toys in the back while Arnold worked on the garage and his bikes for a bit. When I got home I went inside and made supper.

After supper Arnold and I thought about taking the kids for a bike ride but we are having a hard time getting Amber to move her legs on the bike so instead of being frustrated about it we went for a walk to the ice cream store for dessert. We did the potty break thing before we left and we weren't more than 2 minutes from the house and Kyler had to go so Arnold and Kyler ran home and went to the bathroom and I went on with Amber and Quinton. We walked to the ice cream store and waited for them. Eventually Arnold and Kyler showed up and we had our ice cream:

On our way home (like 2 seconds from the store, not even at the corner) Amber had to pee then and couldn't wait to get home. Arnold took her to find a bathroom and the boys and I wanted at the corner for them. I snapped some brotherly love photos (with ice cream)

We got home and headed straight into the bath tub. I was shocked how dirty they could get, well not shocked but surprised! We put them in the tub and they had a baht. While they did that Arnold and I got the kitchen cleaned up and I worked on some stuff for their crafts. Arnold got the fish tank done and ready to go and I did laundry... again.... :) After bath time we watched "The Lion King" since it had LOTS of animals in it!

Then it was bed time, thank goodness! They were done talking and asleep around 10pm. I think this had alot to do with the fact that Q was already asleep before they went to bed.

Our Funny Moments:

Amber - how do we make our bubbles
Me - we just blow it
Amber - how?
Me - watch (I blow a bubble)
Kyler - no like this! (and he farts)

*walking home from DQ we saw a monitor on the side of the road*
Amber - I have a computer at home
Me - really?
Amber - yep! it's all mine
Me - you don't have to share?
Amber - well it's actually Mommy's and she shares with me and Lisa
Me - cool
Amber - Daddy has one but he doesn't share
Me - why not?
Amber - cause he's the daddy.
**Arnold listening to this the whole time**
Arnold - well I'm a Daddy and I share
Amber - well you are different
K (without missing a beat) - you are a good different daddy.

Our plans for today (Wednesday):

Make green jello
Do our crafts and colour our gifts from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa
play at McDonald's play place and have lunch (great plans hey?)
take a nap today.
