Our special treat
Kyler and I chose to start cooking our dessert! We measured out 1/4 cup of butter and put it into the pot.
I put the butter on the oven shortly after on low.

Our Yummy Dessert!
Maple Glazed Bananas
Start to Finish: 15 minutes
**Choose Bananas that are ripe but still firm. Overripe bananas will become mushy during cooking.**
1/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup or maple-flavor syrup
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 firm, ripe bananas, halved lengthwise and cut into 1 inch pieces
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 - In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 2 minutes. Add bananas; stir gently to coat with syrup mixture. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until heated through. Remove from heat. Serve over ice cream. Makes 4 servings.

It was really good. But I have to admit... I forgot the "heat through" part. It was a shock of hot and cold with the ice cream!
