New Food/Dessert #7

This past weekend we went shopping in the morning and while we were out the boys got very excited to see Bananas. This triggered a memory... you know those ones you have once you have looked at something before? Well I knew we were going to something fun with them. We got home and I checked my cookbook and yep! There it was. We were going to make "Maple Glazed Bananas"

Enjoy the photos along with directions (I'll write it all out on the bottom)

Maple Glazed Bananas
Start to Finish: 15 minutes
**Choose Bananas that are ripe but still firm. Overripe bananas will become mushy during cooking.**

1/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup or maple-flavor syrup
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 firm, ripe bananas, halved lengthwise and cut into 1 inch pieces
1 pint vanilla ice cream

1 - In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 2 minutes. Add bananas; stir gently to coat with syrup mixture. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until heated through. Remove from heat. Serve over ice cream. Makes 4 servings.

It was really good. But I have to admit... I forgot the "heat through" part. It was a shock of hot and cold with the ice cream!
