It's MY Day! ~~ Quinton!

On Saturday, the day of my Tri, my mom had to explain to the boys that Saturday was not about them, it was "Mommy's Day". Since then the boys have been plotting what they will do on 'their day'.

We made a list on Monday night of what everyone wanted to do on their own days.

Tuesday we started our "days". Quinton went first (only because I had *plans* for Tuesday night for the boys to go to the movies and it fit with Q's plans).

Quinton's Day included the following:

We started our day with having our special breakfast cereals (the boys chose Lucky Charms today) and getting dressed:

K showing off his new shirt... but then realizing he needed to change.

Finally got it!

Then we started on the first thing... baking a cake! We had banana's left over and Nana sent over her recipe for us to use for the cake AND peanut butter icing! So good. The boys had a lot of fun baking:

Does anyone else find with taking photos of 2 kids that you rarely get both to look at the camera at the same time? Here's one looking

The other looking....

At least in this one they are both looking in the same direction!!

While the boys watched Toy Story 1 I made up the icing and we had the cake cooking. It was a good combo. We shared the mixers with the boys and they really enjoyed it.

Once the cake was out of the oven and the boys were done their movie we did our normal potty break and off we went! Q's list included a NEW PARK so we had to find one they hadn't been too. Arnold and I were talking about different places Q and I can go during the school year and this was one of them. We headed to McDonald's to get lunch (again Q's choice) and off we went to the new park.

The boys had so much fun. They really are park-junkies. If we could go to EVERY park they would LOVE a new one every day. It's just not possible but at least they get to check them out with us.

Once the boys played for a bit we had our lunch.

Q was more into lazing around and making up things that were in the trees than having alot of fun at the park. After he had lunch and we cleaned up he enjoyed the park a bit more.

Our picnic was cut short because of a nice big truck that came to visit. There were 3 trees at the park that had the big orange dots on them and sure enough today was the day to have them cut down. So the boys and I had to move our picnic (under the trees) and we watched from he sidelines.

A bit more playing afterwards and we headed out.

The boys found some pennies on the way out and were so excited!

All in all we had a great time at our new park:

We got home and the boys watched Toy Story 2 and then went down for a nap. When they got up we had a few moments to take some photos of their new costumes!

Aren't they cute?

While we didn't get *everything* done on Q's list most of it was done.

The boys did go and see Toy Story 3 that night with their dad. They had so much fun. When the boys got home they told me all about what they could remember (AKA the ending) and then it was off to bed.

I realize we didn't get Q to climb a tree but all the trees I thought might work were getting cut down! However we did fix that today on K's day. I'll post about that one tomorrow.
