Best night ever

Lately Arnold and I have been having a hard time spending 'time' together. We get the time but something gets in the way. It could be something as simple as a boy who wants to snuggle with his daddy, or dresses I'm making. Or even a bike... that's right ladies and gents... a BIKE!

Well... the past few nights we have 'reconnected'. Finally we have found something we like to do together.... ok well theres more than just 1 thing we like to do together.

And now... It's Mythbusters! Yes those 2 crazy (well for the first few season) men, who every woman at one point or another thinks those men should remove their genes out of the gene pool (assuming that they haven't already lost the ability to have kids from their crazy things they do). They have become part of our evening life. We pop in one of their eposides and sit back and watch in amazement, horror and giggle while they do something silly.

My favourite part of the evening (aside from the crazies on the TV and my hubby in the same room)

Which is now gone!! Must get back on my 'health kick'... I mean training!

Best Son/Father EVER!!

Did you know I have the best son/father ever? I mean really, it's hard to compaire to a husband who gets you a diet coke and puts it in the fridge to cool it down... Then how passes it off to your son who then delivers it to you. Now on a normal day, aweee so cute! Right? or maybe even "Man! you trained him well!". But this past weekend it topped the cake:

Dresses

I make dresses! My Niece needed some dresses to fit her that didn't look... well slutty. So I took on the challenge. Here's the results:

The first and last ones are corduroy(. The top one is purple with flowers, the bottom is brown with spots. I love them!! The middle one is Amber's Favourite so far. I like it as well. The sleeves make me smile! All the outfits are made to have something under them... And the corduroy ones can be given more room in the chest and in the arm straps (the top things are little bows). I'm super excited.

I have more done but those are the only photos so far. I'll post more when I get the next batch photographed!!

What did you do this weekend?

Well lets see we:

Did nothing! Haha well not nothing but it was nice to have a relaxing weekend.

We had my niece over for the day. It took a bit to wake her up but once we did we had fun. We did go to the grocery store, bulk barn, and have a ride on one of the mall toys. Then home to play outside/in the garden, lunch and a break... they were TIRED (once they were sepereated). I woke Amber and the boys up around 4pm and her mommy came shortly after.

These are the only photos I got of the kids the whole time!

Photographers worst nightmare!

I was getting ready to take some photos and I got that "low battery" warning on my camera. I figured, "No big deal! I'll just pop in the other battery". What was I thinking!!! Obviously it's been a bit since I charged it and well... I think it got *in* the charger but never *in* the wall! So... I had 2 "Low batteries"

I had to charge it. All I could manage to get was this photo:

At least I know for next time to make sure everything is charged and ready to go!

New Food #41 - Restaurant Style Smashed Potatoes

While doing some research for a website my husband and I are creating I found this GREAT potatoes meal... I swear it's a meal on it's own!

So yesterday I tired this out:

Recipe: Restaurant Style Smashed Potatoes
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients
5 whole Large Red Potatoes
1 stick Butter, Softened And Cut Into Pieces
5 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 whole Green Onions, Sliced
¾ cups Sour Cream
Salt To Taste (add Plenty!)
Freshly Ground Black Pepper To Taste (ditto!)
¾ cups French Fried Onions, More For Topping

Preparation Instructions

Nuke potatoes or bake in the oven until fork-tender. Add to a large bowl and smash with a potato masher. Immediately add softened butter, green onions, bacon, and sour cream and stir with a rubber spatula. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add french fried onions and fold in.

Serve hot, sprinkling on extra french fried onions and green onions. Yummy with grilled steak or chicken!

We did everything the same but the French fried onions... I didn't have any.

SOOOOO yummy:

Funny Friday ~ Something So Simple

Funny Friday...

It's not so much of a photo that's funny but what I find funny.

This past shopping trip the boys got to pick out their own cereal (something different than normal) and a few other treats. We are finally down on the cereal and I figured why keep 3 boxes around when we could combine it into one container.

So I did:

Lucky Charms, Chocolate puffs and Corn flakes... what a GREAT combo!

Mix them up and :

you have the best cereal ever!!

As for the funny part... this is all the boys want to eat... NOW. They haven't touched their cereal in a few days now (asking for other things) and now that they are mixed together it's the "coolest ever!" Direct quote from Kyler.

What a bunch of silly boys!

Worlds biggest Hopscotch

Yesterday I did my last swim of the summer. Sad isn't it? I went in and did a nice long lane swim and said goodbye to my coach from this summer. He is heading off to school so I went to say goodbye.

I had a babysitter lined up but something happen so her sister came over instead. The boys love her! They were playing with chalk when she showed up so they kept going once I left. I think they were excited I took the car with me.

When I got home I just *couldn't* park in the driveway. They made the worlds largest Hopscotch!

So cute hey? When I got home they were still gone but it turns out they were on a search for BIG rocks since the little ones they couldn't see when they threw them out further!

Happy Halloween!!!

yes it's August but it was Halloween this past week in our house.

See... In April/May we started our indoor garden. Quinton and I planted seeds and had a blast! We got to water them, watch them grow and enjoy every moment of it. The boys were so excited at every stage. They were very excited to know that eventually they would be making them into "Halloween Pumpkins!"

Seeing as we planted them in the house and rather early our first few got ready, well early!

We had to take them out of the garden before it got too much, and started to rot.

On Monday this past week we got our Halloween Costumes at Costco. I have a policeman:

And a Cute Fireman:

Photobucket

Aren't those little men cute?

Photobucket

They have been begging to wear their costumes all week. Eventually we talked to our neighbours and were able to have them help us out a bit. I offered to give them some candy to give to the kids but I was assured they would have something for them.

Thursday night we headed out to the backyard and picked our pumpkins (the 2 orange ones).

On Friday around 5pm we started our pumpkins. Seeing as Mommy is the *only one* in our house that puts her hands into pumpkins I didn't get any other photos than this one:

Photobucket

At 6pm my little Trick'or'treat'ers headed out. They brought their pumpkins outside to sit in the garden and got their photos with them:

Then the boys headed out to the neighbours to show off their costumes, pumpkins and get some candy!

After our adventures in TOT'ing we headed inside. The boys watched a WTP movie and we used our Halloween cups and plates.

Daddy went outside and got some great shots of their pumpkins. We used these cool lights we found that are LED ones and perfect for pumpkins!

Now we are instilling a new virtue in our children... Patience. That is until the "Real" Halloween comes in October.
